DIRECTIONS FROM CORFU 

Many visitors to Albania fly directly to Corfu (Kerkyra) Airport and then take the ferry to Saranda. From Corfu Port, there are 2 ferries every day that take passengers to the Port of Saranda in Albania. Saranda is a 15 minute drive from Ksamil. We can arrange for a taxi to meet you at the port and bring you directly to Ria’s Apartments.

When you arrive in Corfu, it is a good idea to be at the port as early as possible, allowing roughly 1 hour before the departure. The boat departs exactly at 09:00am and 6:30pm so do allow yourself plenty of time. Remember that Greek time is 2 hours ahead of UK time and 1 hour ahead of Albania time.

You can purchase the tickets for this boat from the office on the opposite side of the road to the port. There is a large coffee shop called “Sette Venti” on the port side, and just cross the road you will see plenty of small offices selling tickets-you need to find the Ionian Cruise/Dolphin line.

DIRECTIONS FROM SARANDA

If you are travelling by foot we can organise a taxi for you so that as soon as you arrive at the Port someone will meet you and bring you directly to Ria’s Apartments.

If you are travelling by car and wish to drive from the port in Saranda, the journey to Ksamil is very straightforward.
When you exit the port turn right, and follow the road. Shortly after you come to a BP garage you take another turn right and then follow the road. There will be signs on the way for Ksamil, just follow these until you reach the town centre where you will find Tirana Bank. Follow the main road for about 150 meters, and you will find Ria’s Apartments on the right. If  you have any problems you can telephone us and we will help you reach your destination.

DIRECTIONS FROM IGOUMENITSA

From the Greek Port of Igoumenitsa, you can take a bus or a taxi to the Albanian border crossing [called ‘Mavromati’ in Greek and ‘Qaf Bot’ on the Albanian side] at Konispol and from there to Ksamil. Once you are through the border’s passport control you will be able to catch a bus to the centre of Ksamil.

If you are driving yourself, exit the port of the left and follow the road until the BP petrol station. 50 meters after the BP petrol station turn left and follow the road for Saiada. You will cross a bridge and follow signs for ‘Mavromati’. Take this road for 15 minutes until you reach the border crossing.

Once you have crossed the Albanian border follow the main road for approximately 3km (continuing past the petrol station) until you meet a fork in the road. From here, follow signs for Butrint. This road will take you to the water crossing. Once you have crossed the water, follow the road for about 2km until you reach Ksamil. When you arrive in Ksamil, Ria’s Apartments are situated on the left hand side about 200m down the road. There are clear signposts and you should have no problem arriving.
